I like to play word whomp on www.pogo.com, a site where you can play games, win tokens and cash in your tokens for chances to win money or prizes. This blog is just referring to either word whomp or any games similar to word whomp, which usually requires you unscrambbling a number of letters to form words. Some of you may know of this already, but this is for those who have a hard time coming up with words on your own, but want to win more points or tokens
So my solution is an anagrammer, there is one @ www.anagrammer.com, its usually ment for scrabble but it can really help with word whomp or similar games. Another thing you can use is a tool designed specifically for word whomp which you can download on your Windows computer (I have a Mac so I use anagrammer.com). It is called either whompster, word master or whomper. You can find it at http://www.badgehelp.com/wordwhompcheat.php. They make you pay for these but there are free trials. I can't find any that you can download for a Mac. But if you have Windows and decided to use one of those, when you're free trial runs out you can always use anagrammer.com.
For those of you who never played word whomp the game is set up in the fashion below...
You are given 6 letters and you have to form words out of those letters. There are a certain number of words you can form, and as you form the words they appear on the tiles. As you can see in the picture the gopher is crawling towards the carrot, once you form I believe half of the words there are or a cerain number of words, the gopher chomps the carrot and that gives you a chance to spin the jackpot and win tokens, and you get the points that are on the carrot as well. (this is the first carrot im referring to). If you don't form enough words you won't hit the carrot and win any tokens. The Turnup is when you get all the words and win the number of points on the turnup. It's a pretty interesting game and fast way to win tokens, but the hard part is being timed, and having to come up with the words. I personally am not an expert at this game, so I use anagrammer.com to help me out.
Basically, when you use anagrammer.com, all you do is type the letters that you are given on word whomp and it will form a number of words for you. Some of the words from anagrammer don't work because it's really supposed to be for scrabble, but try all the words because it has all the words you need for word whomp. It's pretty useful and it's for when you are being lazy and can't come up with enough words on your own, but you must be quick because you are still being timed.
The strategy I use for word whomp though (this is my little secret you probably do the same thing though). With the word whomp I play, the number on the turnup is the number of tokens you get in addition to the carrot tokens. you get the turnup tokens once again by getting all the words on the tiles. The amount of tokens you can get increases by a certain number everytime you get the jackpot spin (the carrot) but by not getting the turnup. I know this sounds confusing if you haven't played but basically what I do is make sure I get the carrot but not the turnup until its at the highest number of tokens I can get. The reason why is because everytime you get all the words and get the turnup, the value of the turnup doesn't increase, it goes down to the lowest number. For example, the lowest number for the word whomp I play is 200, and if I keep getting the turnup, it stays at 200. In the example above the turnup has a value of 1000. If you get the carrot but not the turnup, the value of the turnup will continue to increase until it reaches the highest it can get, for my game its 950. Once it reaches 950 for me, I go ahead and solve all the words to get the turnup, and then the number will go back down to 200, and I start all over again. Depending what level you play determines how much the number on the turnup will go up. For example I play the hardest level (because of my handy dandy anagrammer.com =]) and starting at 200 it goes up by 50 each time I get the carrot but avoid getting the turnup so that the value of the turnup goes up. I like to play the hardest level because the value on the turnup goes up quicker and it doesn't matter how hard it is if you use anagrammer.
So that is my strategy, I know it sounds all jumbled and confusing but once you play and look for what I'm talking about you'll understand. So it's a quick and easy way to get more tokens without having to think too hard. And I waist my time on it because once again the tokens give you a chance to win money or prizes, so the more tokens you have the better because you can enter them into daily or monthly drawings for a chance. Say you have 90,000 tokens, and you want to enter them in for a daily drawing. I believe a daily drawing is 50 tokens per ticket, so you can spend as many tokens as you want to increase your chances of winning. There are people with so many tokens on that site I can't wait to reach a higher number =]....
So once again this blog is gonna be confusing to those who don't play or have never played, so start playing and read this so it'll make more sense. Word whomp isn't the only game on pogo.com, there are plenty others that earn you tokens. If I find a way to make another game easier I'll let you know. Thanks for reading ! Comment and ask questions if you need to!
