Word Whomp/ Word Game Cheats

I like to play word whomp on www.pogo.com, a site where you can play games, win tokens and cash in your tokens for chances to win money or prizes. This blog is just referring to either word whomp or any games similar to word whomp, which usually requires you unscrambbling a number of letters to form words. Some of you may know of this already, but this is for those who have a hard time coming up with words on your own, but want to win more points or tokens

So my solution is an anagrammer, there is one @ www.anagrammer.com, its usually ment for scrabble but it can really help with word whomp or similar games. Another thing you can use is a tool designed specifically for word whomp which you can download on your Windows computer (I have a Mac so I use anagrammer.com). It is called either whompster, word master or whomper. You can find it at http://www.badgehelp.com/wordwhompcheat.php. They make you pay for these but there are free trials. I can't find any that you can download for a Mac. But if you have Windows and decided to use one of those, when you're free trial runs out you can always use anagrammer.com.

For those of you who never played word whomp the game is set up in the fashion below...

You are given 6 letters and you have to form words out of those letters. There are a certain number of words you can form, and as you form the words they appear on the tiles. As you can see in the picture the gopher is crawling towards the carrot, once you form I believe half of the words there are or a cerain number of words, the gopher chomps the carrot and that gives you a chance to spin the jackpot and win tokens, and you get the points that are on the carrot as well. (this is the first carrot im referring to). If you don't form enough words you won't hit the carrot and win any tokens. The Turnup is when you get all the words and win the number of points on the turnup. It's a pretty interesting game and fast way to win tokens, but the hard part is being timed, and having to come up with the words. I personally am not an expert at this game, so I use anagrammer.com to help me out.

Basically, when you use anagrammer.com, all you do is type the letters that you are given on word whomp and it will form a number of words for you. Some of the words from anagrammer don't work because it's really supposed to be for scrabble, but try all the words because it has all the words you need for word whomp. It's pretty useful and it's for when you are being lazy and can't come up with enough words on your own, but you must be quick because you are still being timed.

The strategy I use for word whomp though (this is my little secret you probably do the same thing though). With the word whomp I play, the number on the turnup is the number of tokens you get in addition to the carrot tokens. you get the turnup tokens once again by getting all the words on the tiles. The amount of tokens you can get increases by a certain number everytime you get the jackpot spin (the carrot) but by not getting the turnup. I know this sounds confusing if you haven't played but basically what I do is make sure I get the carrot but not the turnup until its at the highest number of tokens I can get. The reason why is because everytime you get all the words and get the turnup, the value of the turnup doesn't increase, it goes down to the lowest number. For example, the lowest number for the word whomp I play is 200, and if I keep getting the turnup, it stays at 200. In the example above the turnup has a value of 1000. If you get the carrot but not the turnup, the value of the turnup will continue to increase until it reaches the highest it can get, for my game its 950. Once it reaches 950 for me, I go ahead and solve all the words to get the turnup, and then the number will go back down to 200, and I start all over again. Depending what level you play determines how much the number on the turnup will go up. For example I play the hardest level (because of my handy dandy anagrammer.com =]) and starting at 200 it goes up by 50 each time I get the carrot but avoid getting the turnup so that the value of the turnup goes up. I like to play the hardest level because the value on the turnup goes up quicker and it doesn't matter how hard it is if you use anagrammer.

So that is my strategy, I know it sounds all jumbled and confusing but once you play and look for what I'm talking about you'll understand. So it's a quick and easy way to get more tokens without having to think too hard. And I waist my time on it because once again the tokens give you a chance to win money or prizes, so the more tokens you have the better because you can enter them into daily or monthly drawings for a chance. Say you have 90,000 tokens, and you want to enter them in for a daily drawing. I believe a daily drawing is 50 tokens per ticket, so you can spend as many tokens as you want to increase your chances of winning. There are people with so many tokens on that site I can't wait to reach a higher number =]....

So once again this blog is gonna be confusing to those who don't play or have never played, so start playing and read this so it'll make more sense. Word whomp isn't the only game on pogo.com, there are plenty others that earn you tokens. If I find a way to make another game easier I'll let you know. Thanks for reading ! Comment and ask questions if you need to!

Tips on winning Uno

Well, what made me think of this is because I've been addicted to facebook Uno for a while and I noticed a lot of dumb mistakes that people make. This can still apply to regular Uno as well. These are not guarenteed wins, but they may help you a little bit.

1st tip: pay close attention because a lot of the time people aren't focusing on what they're doing.

2nd tip: Try to get rid of numbers that match up in your hand. For example if you have a red 5 and a yellow 5, try to get rid of one of the fives. It will help you have more number choices instead of repetatives.

3rd tip: Try to keep your wild card as long as you can! I have seen so many people use their wild card early on in the game and they just end up losing. It is a good idea to save it for the last card. For example if you have a wild card and a red 5 left, use your wild card and change the color to red, hoping that no one changes it by the time it comes back to you. I suggest if you have both a draw 4 wild card and a regular wild card, use the regular one first. You know that if you put down a draw 4 card, the player after you loses a turn and draws 4, so that's one step closer to making sure you get the color you need. The only time I suggest you use your wild card before last is if you are badly losing while everyone else is winning.

4th tip: If the player before you puts down a wild card (a regular one) and they've only got one left, don't put a reverse card down, that's just giving that player an automatic win, and I've seen someone do that before. If that't the only card you have, draw a card or pass, so that the chances of them wining will be reduced because hopefully another player can change the color before they win.

5th tip: Similar to the 4th, but if the player after you used a wild card and now only has one card left and the color hasn't been changed, try to change it by drawing a card hoping you can put a different color down with the same number or whatever. If you have no choice than just pass or play what you have. But at least you took the extra step by doing what you can to prevent them from winning.

6th tip: If you have a deck of the same color cards, or mostly the same color, play the ones that prevent the next player from having a turn first. For example if you have a deck of mostly yellow cards and maybe 3 are numbers, one is a skip card, one is a draw 2 card or whatever, play the skip or draw 2 cards first. You're increasing your chances of the color staying the same by the time it gets back to you.

7th tip: Don't forget to say Uno! So many people forget and it just causes you to draw 2 cards and reduces your chances of winning, so keep that in mind.

8th tip: I may have already said this but if you have both a draw 4 wild card and a regular wild card, use your regular one first because with your draw 4 one, you're taking a turn away from the next player, and may help increase your chances of the same color coming back to you. With the regular wild card you're changing the color but the next player may for example put down the color you chose and the one after may put down the same number but change the color. So automatically your plan is ruined.

9th tip: If you don't really have any good cards, but mostly just number cards of similar colors, just try to use the ones of similiar colors first so you have more choice of color by the end of the game.

Once again these won't mean you'll win automatically but they may just help
